Mon, February 12 (MExN): The Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and New Delhi held an awareness campaign on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 (IMI) at Aboi town on February 12. 

 


The campaign was carried out by the private registered troupes M/S Kala Foundation, Babupara Durga Mandir, Imphal West and the M/S Kekhri Troupe, Khuzama Village, Kohima.

 


A press release issued by Leeyan Chemshy, Media Officer, NHM, Mon stated that the programme started with an introduction by the Block Program Manager, Aboi, Loche Konyak. He briefed on the importance of immunization and the initiative taken by the Government of India to enhance the routine immunization through Intensified Mission Indradhanush. 

 


The troupes communicated the message through singing, dancing and performing martial arts on the street. Addressing the gathering, District Media Officer, NHM, Mon shared about the myths and misconception of immunization. She mentioned about the the initiatives taken up by the Government for the children.  She also requested the crowd to spread the word and to regularly immunize their children as it is a responsibility of every parent to give their child good health, good education and good nutrition.

 


After the programme, the troupe headed off for Tobu.
