The 8th Commencement Day for the Class of 2022 - Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), of C-Edge College (CEC) was held on May 6.  It started with procession of the outgoing Class of 2022, and featured among others, speeches, songs, pledge of allegiance, role of honour and so on.  

Students and faculty of the C-Edge College during its 8th Commencement Day for the Class of 2022 held on May 6 at the college’s GK auditorium. 

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC President, Er Moa Aier stressed on the importance of learning new skills and language while the commencement speaker,  Shanavas C, Principal Director, School Education, exhorted the graduatees  to pursue higher, overcome fear and challenges. He also shared on the significance of public speaking, maintainence of civic sense and how youngster can contribute towards the growth of the state.  Another highlight of the day was the conferment of awards for attendance, academic merit and leadership role etc, presided by Dr Chubatola Aier, Principal, CEC.

Awareness prog at Eastern Christian College 

The Women’s Grievances Redressal of the  Eastern Christian College (ECC) Dimapur conducted an awareness programme on “Women’s Health and Hygiene” on May 7 with Dr Mhasisenuo T Belho, Gynaecologist, Dr Belho's Clinic, Dimapur, as the resource person. 

Resource person, faculty and staff as well as students pose for lens after the awareness programme, “Women’s Health and Hygiene” organised by the Women’s Grievances Redressal of the  Eastern Christian College, Dimapur conducted an on May 8.

Stressing on the importance of staying healthy, Dr Mhasisenuo sensitised the gathering on the problems faced by women regarding monthly cycle, fertility, PCOS such as obesity, hormonal changes, acne, menopause etc. She further shared on the importance of staying hygienic as it reduces the risk of germs and microbes that carry diseases.

Visitation, social work at LFIC

Altogether 8 students and 2 teachers of the Education and Psychology departments, Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC), Dimapur visited the special classroom run by St Mary’s Montessori Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on May 6. The purpose of the visit was to interact with both the teachers and special children and understand their needs, learning conditions and the type of education provided by the institute. This special classroom was established in the year 2004 and currently has 18 students.

Meanwhile, the college also organised a social work on May 7, during which LFIC students, faculty, and staff, under the patronage of the NSS, cleaned college’s premises to the main crossroads of Thahekhu, Kevija-Ü colony. It was organised to protect and raise awareness about the importance of keeping the environment clean in and around the vicinity.

PVHSS celebrates Tagore’s anniversary

The Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur celebrated the 161st Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore on May 9. During the same, the students of primary section garlanded Tagore’s portrait and paid tribute though various presentations while in the second session, the students of PVHSS presented songs, dances and poetry depicting the immense range of Tagore’s conceptions. The PVHSS Principal, Monoj Bhattacharjee welcomed the gathering while it concluded with vote of thanks by Vice-Principal, AK Ray.

Placement guidance orientation at SJU

The St Joseph University (SJU) organised a one-day Placement Guidance Orientation Programme in Collaboration with AIDA – Don Bosco Job Placement Network under the topic, “Career guidance on choosing a career path for the postgraduate students” on May 6.

In his opening remark, SJU Registrar Dr A Anthonisan highlighted the aspects of job opportunities for the students in and around Nagaland, North East and India. 

Resource person, Sebi Chacko, the Placement Coordinator of AIDA highlighted four essential stages for a career campaign - self-assessment, knowledge of employment options, contacting employers, and preparing for job search.

Later, there were discussions on skills required for searching jobs, expectations regarding work and preparation for getting jobs. 

NAAC thanksgiving prog at WGC Mon

The Wangkhao Government College (WGC) Mon held a thanksgiving programme on successful completion of first cycle of NAAC Accreditation on May 6. 

Stating that the college was accredited with B+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), WGC Principal Dr I Wati lauded Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) members led by co-ordinators, teachers, student, the ministerial staff and others for the achievement. He also urged all the stakeholders to continue to uphold the standard and strive for higher grade. 

Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K also expressed his gratitude to the Mindtree Foundation, Cherub Foundation, Assam Rifles, CSR, Alumni Association, KGOU, KSU, KNSK and other civil organisations for their contribution towards the physical development of the college. The apex bodies of the Konyak community also lauded college on attaining the milestone.

SJC (A) Jakhama holds seminar 

A one-day seminar titled ‘Blended Mode of Learning’ was conducted by the Department of English, St Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama in collaboration with the college’s IQAC on May 7. In his welcome note, SJC Principal, Fr Dr George Keduolhou Angami highlighted the importance of blending the material, knowledge and divine needs while HoD, Department of English, James HK, shared on how blended mode offers greater flexibility to students and how it can enhance quality  of the  learning process. 

At the seminar, Tainla Longchar of English Department presented on the topic, “Introduction to Blended Mode of Learning and Theoretical Background,” followed by her colleagues, Neizosie-O Jude Rhutsu on ‘ICT Tools and Initiatives and Implementation of Blended Learning’ and Soyimla Akum on ‘Assessment and Evaluation and Suggested Framework for Blended Learning.’
