Can Youth and Herbert Spencer School observe Global Social Innovation Day

Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): Can Youth in collaboration with Herbert Spencer School, celebrated Global Social Innovation Day under the theme “How to Improve the Educational System for Adolescents” on November 19. 

In a press release issued here, it stated that an extempore speech competition was held as part of the programme, where participants shared perspectives on issues affecting adolescent learners and suggested ways to make education more engaging, supportive and skill-oriented. 

Students also took part in poster-making and dialogue sessions, further expressing their ideas on improving learning environments and support systems in schools.

Kevin Gonmei, Education Secretary of DNSU, graced the event as the speaker. Gonmei appreciated the efforts of Can Youth in empowering young people and promoting social innovation in schools. He emphasised the importance of listening to adolescents’ voices in shaping education policies and encouraged the students to take active roles in bringing positive change to society.

Zhove Lohe, Secretary and Director of Can Youth, invoked God’s blessing for the programme and highlighted the organisation’s work in empowering marginalized children, adolescents and youth through education, skill-building, health awareness, leadership training and addressing social issues such as substance abuse.

Representatives from Can Youth encouraged students to continue developing innovative ideas and assured support in nurturing youth-led initiatives. The organisation also highlighted the importance of community involvement in enhancing adolescent well-being and improving the education system.

Can Youth expressed gratitude to the school management, teachers and students of Herbert Spencer School for their cooperation and enthusiastic participation, which made the programme meaningful and impactful.
