Cancel proposal of conducting security training: NAYO to Nagaland DGP

Kohima, August 9 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) today submitted a representation to DGP Nagaland to cancel proposal of conducting security training under NAYO jurisdiction.

In a representation addressed to the latter, a copy of which was made available to The Morung Express, NAYO stated “It is learnt from reliable sources that your prominent office has announced a call for training of security personnel at 4th NAP Thizama, and 10th NAP (IR) Bn at Zhadima, where both the proposed centres lies under the jurisdiction of NAYO. It is also imperative for the Organization to apprise your esteem office that you had also earlier called for similar programme to be conducted at Chumukedima, Alichen Mokokchung and Tuensang only to be spurned by the public of the respective regions because of the existing fiery pandemic.”

The representation signed by NAYO President Roko Angami and General Secretary Ruokuoneitso Kire stated that the recently proposed training centres, Zhadima and Thizama are located in the heart of the village dwellings. 

“Hence, at this difficult time where the pandemic strikes is at its zenith, the NAYO feels that it is very unsafe for its populace to have the intended attendees coming from different part of the state,” it stated.

NAYO avowed that “it cannot allow anything come whatsoever, including this proposed training to jeopardize the safety of its citizens in the slightest as it is morally and legally bounded by its constitution,” and requested the concerned authority to call off the proposal order “till the situation is favourable.”
