
Kohima, August 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) wrote to the Chief Engineer of the state’s Public Works Department (PWD), drawing attention to several work orders that were issued in the Road and Bridges Department without floating open tenders. It demanded that such work orders be cancelled immediately as it violated the government’s standing order.
The union’s President Pele Khezhie and Secretary Hoshito Assumi issued a press release on August 26, claiming that upon verification, several work orders were issued without floating open tenders. An example, it said was the work order awarded to M/S Vipe Enterprise for improvement of road from Jotsoma Bypass Road, Kohima and improvement of Laike Road amounting to Rs 71.68 lakh and Rs 14,33,61,000 respectively, which were issued without floating tenders.
As such, the union demanded that all the tabled tenders should be cancelled immediately; failing which it would be compelled to seek justice.
