Cancellation of Grade III & IV appointments to Yingli College demanded

DIMAPUR, JUNE 4 (MExN): While appreciating the State Government for taking over  Yingli College, the Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) has nevertheless expressed shock over the way the recent appointment of IV and III grades staffs were being carried out. The take-over by the Government does not mean a blanket license to impose individual whims over the Community’s wills, a press communiqué issued by PSC President P. Shanthong Phom stated.

The Association of Phom Graduates & Officers (APGO), which initiated the establishment of Yingli College with the active support of the Phom Community, has in this regard, submitted a memo to the Department for rectification in the interest of the association in particular, and the community in general, where the interest of the land owners are also involved. It was observed that this seems  to have been overlooked in order to accommodate the desire of an individual, the PSC stated.

The PSC, therefore, viewed this as an act of vandalism against the future of the College which has been brought to thus far, by the APGO with its sweat and toil during the last 15 years since its inception.

“The PSC supports the APGO’s appeal to the Government for cancellation of the recent appointment of IV and III grades staff of Yingli College, Longleng in the interest of general public”it was maintained.

Pointing out that the establishment of Yingli College was based on the principles of community spirit and the success thereof, the PSC maintained that it was due to its concept being kept alive by the founding members and as such, “the collective wisdom in the interest of the community is always given highest priority, not the individual’s, in the matter of any decision concerning the College”.
