Sunday, March 13 at City Tower junction at 6:00pm
The Naga Council of Dimapur, Women Hoho, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union, GBs’ Union, Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), churches, ‘hohos’ and concerned citizens held a special emergency meeting on March 11 morning. They discussed the Naga reconciliation process and expressed urgency to expediting the highest-level leadership meeting of the Naga “political groups.” The FNR is initiating the reconciliation process with the support of church and civil society.
The organizations have decided to hold a Candlelight prayer vigil on Sunday, March 13, at 6 PM at the City Tower junction in Dimapur to coincide with NBCC’s call for statewide prayer for peace. “The candle light prayer vigil is to seek the blessing of God for Nagas and the peace process. Further, the vigil seeks to emphasize the urgency for reconciliation and dialogue among all Naga political groups and to appeal to leaders at the highest level by urging them to consider fervent plea of the people and their desire to see the Naga peace process reach its honorable conclusion,” a note from the Naga Council stated today.
All churches are requested to provide a candle each to members while Naga Council will arrange for 1000 candles, PA systems, banner and general information through the media. The vigil program will conclude with the song “We shall overcome” and a mass prayer. All citizens are requested to participate in the prayer vigil at City Tower.
