CANSSEA Dimapur unit conducted its general meeting on May 17.

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Dimapur unit of the Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees Association (CANSSEA) held its general meeting on May 17 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.

In his opening remarks, I Anungba Sanglir, president of the CANSSEA Dimapur Unit, urged members to reflect on how they could improve their service as government employees and better serve the public. Acknowledging the challenges faced by government servants, he called for an honest assessment of needs rather than mere complaints.

"Whatever we decide today is not only for us but for shaping the future of officers and staff who will come after us," he stated.

During the meeting, key issues such as the 8th Revision of Pay (ROP), Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), and reverting to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) were deliberated at length. The house unanimously resolved to support the decisions taken by the CANSSEA central team on these matters.

The unit also resolved to express solidarity with the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) by participating in the proposed nationwide strike scheduled for July 9. The strike includes several chartered demands, including restoration of OPS.

Additionally, a fundraising committee was formed comprising members from the departments of Taxes, Excise, Geology & Mining, Food and Civil Supplies, NST, Land Survey and Records, and District Administration.

The meeting also discussed the collection of annual membership fees and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Lolano Patton, General Secretary, CANSSEA Dimapur Unit.
