The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) today held its triennial session 2024 cum induction of new office bearers at Hotel Japfu, Kohima.
CANSSEA has more than 1 lakh members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Zasekuolie Chüsi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Transport and Director, Census Operations, Nagaland, called upon CANSSEA members to be more responsible and work with sincerity and dedication for the upfliftment of the society. Today, he said, CANSSEA should not only be a welfare organization but should be a guiding force for the state government.
Asking the members not only to see the welfare of the employees, he called upon them to assist the government in policy making. A great responsibility lies upon us and we need to do meticulously, he said.
Chüsi also stressed on the need to take right decision for progressive Nagaland.
CANSSEA activities
CANSSEA President Dr Ilang said that the Association has been quite active in addressing various issues affecting its members. Highlighting the activities of the Association from 2021 till date, Dr Ilang stated that it had submitted multiple representations to Chief Secretary for IAS induction issue, relaxation of qualifying years of service for promotions etc.
Further representation was submitted to the Principal Secretary P & AR for relaxation of qualifying years of service for promotions.
The Association met NPSC chairman in 2022 for timely dispensation of DPC and clearance of DPC on anticipated vacancies. It also attended meeting on the invitation of the Chief Secretary for superannuation age of medical doctors.
CANSSEA also met chief secretary and thoroughly deliberated against the proposal of encadrement of various post of some departments in the NCS cadre review proposal (Seven departments) representation of resentment submitted.
CANSSEA also had emergency meeting on June 13, 2022 on NPS issue and Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Association against the employment of superannuated officer.
The Association joined the nationwide dharna and deliberated with the Chief Secretary for scrapping of NPS and to roll back to OPS in 2023 and also attended dharna called by Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum for restoration of the OPS.
CANSSEA new team
M Ben Yanthan, Director Agriculture Nagaland and Convenor of Search Committee announced the new team of CANSSEA for the tenure 2024-2027.
The new team will be led by Zubemo Tsanglao as President, Vice President-Khriesezolie Kire, S Chaidok Phom and Anung Sanglir, General Secretary-Yhensenlo Kent, Joint Secretary-Khroteu Ritse, Toshinaro Ovung, Pekinto Y Zhimo and Dr Ndangkie Ndang, Finance Secretary-Visetonuo Angami, Press & Information Secretary-Siewato Nyusou, Treasurer-Shikna Konyak and Dr Ilang as advisor.
Incoming president Zubemo Tsanglao in his speech reflects confidence in the team's ability to continue making informed decisions with input from experienced members and conveyed commitment to working towards collective progress.
Meanwhile, the handing and taking over of the old and new office bearers will take place on June 14 at 3:00 PM at CANSSEA Complex, Kohima.
Earlier, CANSSEA general secretary Hovithal Sothu gave secretary report. The programme was chaired by CANSSEA vice president Chubayanger while vote of thanks was pronounced by joint secretary Visetonuo Angami.
