CANSSEA Vs Govt. final hearing this month

Dimapur June 15 (MExN): The final hearing of the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) case against the Nagaland Government on the pay commission is expected to be heard in the month of June in the Guwahati High Court.

“The CANSSEA Advocates of the Guwahati High Court vide their letter of 7th June 2006 have informed that the case WP (C ) No. 565 of 2000 CANSSEA and others Vs Nagaland State with regard to implementation of the 5th Central Pay Scales with effect from 01 June, 1998 and payments of missing financial packages for 22 months (1st June 1998 to 31st March 2000) has been listed for final hearing as issued by the Guwahati High Court and is expected to be heard in the month of June, 2006” informed a release issued by Dr K Solo, president, CANSSEA.

It was further stated that the notice by the team of confederation’s advocates in advance is a clear indication of getting prepared with a “big sum” in the form of legal fees, which is, by all account, inevitable.

“Any lapse, however, on the part of this organization could dearly jeopardize the case even leading to deferment of the same” the president stated. In this connection, the Central office bearers in its meeting held on June 12 discussed the issue at length and resolved to direct the member-associations, government departments and district and sub-divisional units, CANSSEA, to clear up the dues on account of pending annual membership fees, sales proceeds of CANSSEA souvenir and one-time fixed rate collection of 2002 immediately, if not cleared so far, it was informed.
