CANSSEA Wokha elects new office bearers

Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): As notified, an emergency meeting was convened on March 31, 2011 at LTC Hall to discuss various issues confronting the employees of the Unit namely, release of DA, opening of Bazaar Branch & ATM Service at Wokha Town, collection of membership fees, creation of Employees Grievances Cell in the Central Office, construction of CANSSEA Wokha Unit Office building and other related issues. A press note issued by Yibonthung Humtsoe, general secretary, CANSSEA Wokha Unit informed that the House also unanimously elected office bearers for the tenure 2011-13. N. Ekonthung Kikon was elected as president, Libemo Jami as vice-president, Yibonthung Humtsoe as general secretary, Dr. Abenthung Murry as finance secretary, and E. Yanrenthung Patton as treasurer. It further resolved to induct the other office bearers in the next general meeting. Meanwhile, the Unit expressed serious concern over the physical assault on Mhonrao Jami, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Wokha by ‘some elements’ while on official duty. The Unit urged the people from all walks of life to see that such ‘painful incidents’ are not repeated as it will only hamper the growth and development of the district and Wokha town in particular. The Unit also wished speedy recovery to the victim.
