In response to the call of the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF), the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) on Tuesday staged a statewide sit-in dharna to press for the federation’s 11-point charter of demands submitted to the Union Government.

In Wokha, the district unit of CANSSEA organised the demonstration at LSU Martyrs Park, where representatives from various departments joined in solidarity. Around ten members from each department took part in the protest, holding placards that underscored major demands, including the scrapping of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), pay revision every five years, eligibility criteria for induction into the IAS cadre, bringing all subscribers under EPS-95, introduction of comprehensive health insurance for pensioners and contractual employees, and repeal of the PFRDA Act.

The sit-in was conducted peacefully. The district unit expressed hope that the demands raised under the AISGEF charter would be addressed positively and at the earliest by the Union Government.
