Mokokchung, May 27 (DIPR): A block level farmers’ orientation & capacity building programme on livestock under National Livestock Mission was held in Mokokchung district on May 25 in the conference hall of DPRO office, Mokokchung.
Seven farmers, each nominated through ATMA Mokokchung from six blocks - Ongpangkong North & South, Kubolung, Chuchu, Changtongya and Tuli - attended the one day programme held on the topic ‘Current trends in livestock management production’.
Dr. Aoyimsen, VAS, Mokokchung, Dr. Mangyang, Farm Manager SCBF, Aliba and Dr. Sanen Jamir, VAS, were the resource persons.
The welcome and keynote address was delivered by Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer, Mokokchung, Dr. BM Sunep. He shared with the farmers the Cannan Farming Principles and encouraged them to work diligently to uplift their economy through livestock farming.
Dr. Sunep further informed that training for Mangkolemba, Longchem and Mrangmen blocks under Mangkolemba sub-division will be held next week.
The training was also attended by officials from Confederation of Nagaland Farmers’ Union, Mokokchung.
