A specialised capacity building programme on financial literacy was conducted under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme at Town Hall Zunheboto on May 24. The initiative was organized by Edu Northeast Pvt. Ltd., educational and entrepreneurial development in Nagaland India.
L Chinglem Konyak, EAC (Hq) Zunheboto delivered a welcome address in the event which saw enthusiastic participation from local business owners, entrepreneurs, and MSME stakeholders along with colony GBs.
Lovino Achumi, Project Associate, provided an overview of the RAMP Scheme and highlighted that the purpose of the training was to improve the participants' knowledge of key concepts of finance that included: basic financial principles, budgeting for business, caring and managing credit, benefits of government financial schemes, and advantages of using digital financial instruments.
Akhtar Hussain, Trainer and Senior Accountant at Edu Northeast Pvt. Ltd. informed the participants that this financial literacy programme was a significant element in the RAMP Scheme which was launched by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India in partnership with World Bank funding, and seeks to organize the MSME ecosystem in states such as Nagaland through training, infrastructure, policies, and knowledge.
During the training, Hussain reiterated, “Financial literacy is the backbone of sustainable enterprise growth, because with right knowledge of finances, our local entrepreneurs can not only access easily with various schemes from the government, but should be able manage and run more efficient and effective business.”
