Kohima, October 7 (MExN): A capacity building workshop on the Gati Shakti Portal, organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) and the Government of Nagaland, was held at the Conference Hall of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Kohima, on October 4.
Vivek Gupta, Senior Director at the Ministry of DoNER, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the Gati Shakti Portal as an initiative launched by the Prime Minister of India on October 13, 2021. Gupta explained that the portal was created to improve coordination between various ministries and departments, enabling more efficient monitoring of large-scale infrastructure projects.
Addressing past challenges between the state and the ministry, including delays in document submission and the loss of physical proposals, Gupta introduced the VikasSetu Portal as a solution. “The VikasSetu Portal bridges the gap between the state and the center, providing departments with critical data for planning and executing projects,” he said. Gupta also emphasized that the Gati Shakti Portal includes tools for project planning, identifying duplicity in proposed projects, and tracking project status online. The portal is designed to be transparent and accessible, allowing officers to retrieve project information from anywhere at any time, thereby enhancing efficiency between the state and the ministry.
Secretary for Industries and Commerce, Shanavas C, IAS, extended his gratitude to representatives from various departments for their participation in the workshop, acknowledging their involvement in the capacity-building exercise.
The workshop aimed to familiarize officials with the tools and benefits of the Gati Shakti Portal to streamline project planning and execution in Nagaland.
