The new college campus of Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) was inaugurated today at Thegaba, Phezhu, Jotsoma near Kohima.

Inaugurating the new campus, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) congratulated the college for getting the new campus. “May you take the courage to face the challenges that may come your way,” he said.

He also told the students to discover the purpose of their life through “meaning education and interaction with knowledge.” “We are in an exciting era, many things are happening. They include bad things, undesirable things but alongside of those things good things are happening too. Our world is no longer the same, and perhaps we can say so even in the field of education. Challenging situations we face, moments of desperation we encounter. And yet life goes on,” said Rev. Dr. Keyho and stressed on the need to make out things that will impact our society and world.

In this instant world, there are something that cannot be instant. It takes time, it takes dedication, it takes commitment, it takes planning and above all it takes vision and resilience to be different, he said.

He added that education is one which needs proper planning, vision and careful drafting of smart and dedicated minds, stating “Because in education we deal with young and tender minds. Education must be drafted with care in order to give a meaning future to our world.”

‘Young minds are the hope and future of our tomorrow’
Also stressing on the need to stay close to what “we are doing not only during the season but also out of season,” Rev. Dr. Keyho said “We must pick up new ideas and insights as we listen to the frustrated voices around us-even our own failures. We must pick up fresh insights and fresh sounds and this we can do only if we stay close to the world without becoming part of the world. Listen to another definition of vision.”

“A vision, or view of the future, is an ongoing, evolving, hopeful look into the future that stirs the hearts and minds of people who know they will never see its end or limit,” he stressed.

We must bank on the little success of the little things we have made to encourage ourselves and one another and say to ourselves we can do it, he added.

Stating that the young minds are the hope and future of our tomorrow, Rev. Dr. Keyho called upon them to “know that you are born with a purpose embedded: you don’t just carry the image in you like a statue or a portrait for people to admire you. You are not just a wow piece. In you, there is a divine purpose which you must realize.”

You are created with a purpose and for a purpose, he said and told the students to discover their identity and purpose through a relationship with Christ.”
