Dimapur’s Elite team’ and Peren’s Black Knights’ emerge champions
Jalukie, April 25 (MExN): ‘Elite team’ from Dimapur and Black Knights’ from Peren respectively emerged as the Boys’ and Girls’ team champions of the Captain N Kenguruse MVC (P) Basketball Tournament, at St Xavier’s College campus on April 24.
In the Boys’ final, ‘Elite team’ defeated ‘Black Knights’ with 65 - 40 points while in Girl’s category ‘Black Knights’ from Peren defeated ‘Jalukie Ballers’ with 16-6.
The 3-day tournament was organised by the Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles and St Xavier’s College. A total of 14 teams – 9 boys’ and 5 girls’ participated in the tournament.
Officers from Jalukie Battalion; Father Francis, Principal St Xavier’s College; and members of the local administration were present during the prize distribution ceremony held at St Xavier’s College on Saturday, a press release from the organiser informed.
