Two persons were killed and four others injured when their speeding car collided with an oil tanker in Kohima on Wednesday night.
The accident occured around 10 pm, when the speeding Bolero heading downward Kohima crossed the median of the lane and collided with an oil tanker moving towards Manipur near Diary Farm, Police New Reserve Colony, police said.
When the police arrived on the spot, two of the victims including the driver of the Bolero were found dead while the other four occupants were found in unconscious or semi-conscious state and were later rushed to hospital.
The occupants in the tanker escaped without any injury. The reason of accident was rash driving, police added.
