Peren, June 15 (MExN): In a significant development, the first batch of spices from Peren district was delivered to Mumbai based company under the initiatives of Peren District Administration.
An update from the DIPR stated that two loads of cardamom were dispatched as a pilot project last month. “This was done as demonstration exercise for farmers and FPOs about the availability abundant avenues for spices market outside the state,” it stated.
The effort is to make it sustainable by promoting local entrepreneurs who can take up this project. It is to expect that farmers of the district come forward and utilise the established market linkage to realise better price and income, the update stated.
