Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): In commemoration of its Platinum Jubilee (1941-2016), Akhoya Students’ Union is organising a three-day career guidance and spiritual orientation programme, which is underway at GCYM, Sovima.
About 100 students are taking part in the seminar which is sponsored by Dimapur Akhoya Fellowship.
On Wednesday, IPS Probationer, Dimapur Vrinda Shukla spoke on the topic “Know your potential and interest.” She called upon the students to accept any responsibility that comes and never say no but to accept it as an opportunity. She urged all to introspect and identify one’s potential so as to choose the right profession without letting others to control our lives.
Appreciating the pioneer effort of the Ao people which is known to the outside world, she called upon the student community to maintain the legacy. “Life is short and precious, and the power to design in life is within you,” she stated
Speaking on the topic “Civil Service & Entrepreneurship,” SDO (C) Peren, Shivam Verma said civil service and entrepreneurship are equally great tool to bring about positive change in the society and called upon the students to have strong determination and sincerity to achieve one’s goal. Further, he encouraged the students to be keen observers to every situation and form their own opinions on current issues and start thinking about their consequences.
On the concluding day on April 28, Vishal (IPS) will be main speaker. The programme will be followed by a panel discussion on “Career possibilities of right choosing”. The panelists will be Limaakum Jamir, NPS, Moangla Longchar, Associate Professor, Sharon Longchari, NCS, Rongsenmenla, NCS, Er. Alemtoshi Imsong, and Akum Jamir, Advocate as Moderator.
