Placement Cell of St Joseph University, Chümoukedima in collaboration with the Indian Navy organised a career guidance programme on October 14.

Chümoukedima, October 14 (MExN): A career guidance programme titled “A Career Choice in the Indian Navy” was organised by the Placement Cell of St Joseph University, Chümoukedima in collaboration with the Indian Navy at the university auditorium on October 14.
The event, chaired by Dr Lorenbeni Kikon, Assistant Professor of the Department of Biotechnology, commenced with an invocation and the National Anthem. In her welcome address, Placement Coordinator, Acing Susanna emphasized the values of discipline and service to the nation. The programme also included a table drill demonstration by the NCC cadets.
A session was led by Lt Cdr Bezai Moses, a Submarine Specialist from the Indian Navy. Through engaging presentations and videos, he provided a comprehensive overview of the Navy's operations, structure, and its crucial role in national maritime security. He detailed the various career entry paths, including Officer and Agniveer entries for both men and women, explaining the eligibility criteria and selection procedures.
Lt Cdr Moses shared his personal journey and highlighted the Navy's motto, “Maritime Security for National Prosperity,” while speaking on the technical branches and growth opportunities within the force. The session, which included captivating visuals of naval assets, served as a strong motivational impetus for the students in attendance.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Mebin Joseph, Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany, and a benediction.
