Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): The fourth season of the Case Premier League came to an end in a grand closing ceremony on March 16 at the 1st NAP Ground in Chümoukedima.


 Natak FC were crowned champions of the fourth season of Case Premier League, while three-time champions Trinity Sporting had to settle for the runner up position, having failed to continue their streak for the fourth time.


It was euphoria all over the field as the champions-elect sealed their victory in style withan empathic 11-1 winover Super Strikers on Saturday.Nizams FC, Trinity Sporting and Case FC also registered wins on the last matchday of Case Premier League Season 4.


Chairing the closing ceremony, Rijju of Ruboo United thanked all the participants for the successful completion of the league and encouraged them to carry on with the positive learnings from the league.United’s Kenen pronounced the invocation while AyetoAyemi, Manager Nizams FC and Kuchi R Zeliang delivered short speeches.


Ayeto expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants of the league. “Case Premier league is a gift we should all be thankful for,” he said, as he shared how being in the league brought about a lot of healthy habits and enforced a positive lifestyle for him personally. He expressed hope that the same spirit would be continued in the new season as well.


In a show of solidarity, Ayeto also displayed a shirt that read “Pray for Pito’s Daddy,” requesting prayers for the father of the captain of Nizams FC. Pito, who also won the best midfielder award, had missed the last matchday to be with his father who had recently been hospitalized owing to an illness.


League sponsorsCase Construction’s Managing Director, Kuchi R Zeliang gave a brief introduction about the company and said that Case Construction was part of the league mainly for the love of the game. The organizing committee meanwhile extended gratitude to DIG (Training and Border) and Commandant, 1st NAP for allotting the ground to the league for all their matches. Special mentions were given to the Sports officer, NAPTC and DDFRA for providing the referees for the matches.


Themed ‘Beyond Thirty, Beyond Fitness, Beyond Football, ‘and sponsored by Case Constructions, CPL is a non-professional football league for players above the age of 30. All the matches are played on Saturdays at the 1st NAP and DGP grounds in Chümoukedima.
