Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today appealed to the citizens of Nagaland to come forward and cast their “precious vote” for the NDPP-BJP alliance candidates.
It assured that the NDPP-BJP alliance is committed towards bringing good and transparent governance and draws a new roadmap of progressive development for Nagaland.
NDPP through a press release from its Media & Communications Committee further instructed all its rank and file to extend fullest cooperation to the partners of the alliance in all the respective constituencies.
“All NDPP members in those assembly constituencies where the party has not fielded candidates are hereby directed to extend full support to the BJP candidates in every possible manner,” it stated.
Lauding the church and civil societies which have initiated the ‘Clean Election Campaign,’ NDPP also assured the citizens of the State that it supports the campaign in letter and spirit. The party directed its rank and file to carry out their responsibilities without deviating from the model code of conduct and uphold the clean election guidelines.
Meanwhile, it appealed to all government machineries, especially the administration, police and law enforcing agencies, to ensure an atmosphere of free and fair elections with utmost impartiality.
“We have the fullest confidence on the institutions that are conducting the polls that they will carry out their responsibilities in the most impartial manner. We assure our cooperation to the government agencies, as it is our collective endeavor to strengthen the foundations of the country’s democratic principles by ensuring clean, free and fair elections,” the release added.
