Mokokchung, February 29 (MExN): A 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) for NCC cadets-boys and girls from various districts commenced at CRPF Camp, Mokokchung from February 27.
Organised by the 25th Nagaland Independent Coy NCC, Mokokchung, the cadets will be imparted training on various subjects such as drill, weapon training, map reading, first aid, adventure, self defence, military history, physical fitness, field craft and battle craft. A press release received here stated that around 300 cadets from seven districts are taking part in the camping.
An anti-drugs lecture was also held where the resource person, Sentiyanger from the Alcoholic Anonymous Society gave a lecture on the topic. He encouraged the cadets to abstain from drugs and other intoxicating substances. “Once we start using, we become addicted and spoil our life slowly,” he said while adding that uses of such things are the root cause of evil in the society. The camp will culminate on March 7.
