CBCC reiterates support to PAC

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), while reiterating its support to the Public Action Committee (PAC) of the Naga Council Dimapur, today said that “it is a long felt desire of the Naga public to root out all kinds of illegal taxations imposed by various agencies in the state.”

“In a way what the PAC has done is a yeoman service rendered to the public in the event of the failure of the state machinery to tackle the illegal taxations for which the public are suffering economically over the past many years,” a press release from the CBCC Executive Secretary, Rev Khrotso Mero stated.

The CBCC therefore stated that “it is the bounden duty of every sensible citizen to rise to the occasion and extend every possible moral support to this movement spearheaded by the PAC.” It appealed to all sections of the society including the Naga political groups to sincerely co-operate and stand in solidarity with this “public based movement and to do away this self-inflicted economic burden upon our society.”

The CBCC also urged the concerned authority to stop all kinds of unauthorised and illegal taxations along the national highways and ensure that all syndicate systems and lease systems imposed by certain organisations are removed.

Further, it called for the government to reactivate the proper functioning of price regulation committee in all the districts in the state so as to save the public from undue economic burdens.
