CBCMHK observes Mission Challenge Sunday

Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho along with the members of the church mission department on March 8.
Kohima, March 8 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Minister’s Hill (CBCMH), Kohima today observed ‘Mission Challenge Sunday’ with Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) general secretary Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho as the resource person.
During the morning devotional services, Rev Dr Keyho spoke about the advent of the Gospel message to Northeast India including Nagaland.
He said that the American missionaries whose original intent to proclaim the gospel to the Shan ethnic groups in Burma and beyond, was rerouted by God's magnanimous act to bring the Gospel to the Naga Hills.
He highlighted the message in Isaiah 9:2 as Naga story too, which ultimately is His story.
He challenged the congregation to rethink Mission of God as imagined within the confines of comfortable Christianity.
Further, he urged the congregation to realize one’s urgent responsibility to proclaim the gospel of salvation to people previously not included within their mission scope.
He said that the ultimate business of the Nagas as Christians is to tell of God's love through Jesus Christ.
The congregational prayer for the missionaries and evangelists at various levels was led by the chairman of Mission Department, Thüjoneyi Veswüh.
He gave a brief update about the church involvement in the mission field.
Pastoral prayer was pronounced by the senior pastor of CBCMH, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao. Earlier, youth choir and mission department presented special song.
