CBEC creates Commissioner Office for GST in Dimapur

Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): With jurisdiction over the entire state of Nagaland, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has created the office of Commissioner of Central Tax Dimapur Office for administering the Central GST and Integrated GST portion of GST.  

The creation of office was stated in a notification from the Union Ministry of Finance on June 19 and will come into force on June 22.  

K Ashi Khieya a 1991 batch IRS (Customs and Excise) officer has reportedly been transferred to take over as Commissioner of CGST Dimapur.  

The Dimapur office will come under the jurisdiction of Chief Commissioner Guwahati, which also has jurisdiction over the entire North East states except Sikkim.  

Assam has two Commissioner Office – Principal Commissioner Office in Guwahati and Commissioner Office in Dibrugarh. All the other states have one office based in their respective capitals viz., Agartala, Aizawl, Imphal, Itanagar, and Shillong. The Central Government is set to roll out the Good & Services Tax from July 1.
