
Tening, January 31: Namri Nchang, MLA Tening launched the CBR project at Jalukie Town on January 30. The project is sponsored by Liliane Foundation and implemented by People in Need Foundation, has opened its branch in Jalukie town. The MLA made a commitment for the cause of the Persons with Disabilities in the district and said that the NGO should cover the whole district not only 25 villages, which the NGO plans in its first year. He announced that Minister TR Zeliang who could not attend the event, was donating a motor bike to the NGO for the field work.
Dennis Elung, Peren District NPF President made an appeal for the cause of the persons with disabilities. He said it was time to do something for them. We have worked for the welfare of the able and now it was time we focus on the PwDs, the departments and the communities need to co-operate to bring about better facilities to the PwDs. The Civil SDO, OC police, Jalukie Town Chairman, Zeliangrong Baudi Officers, Zeliang People’s Organization, political party, community leaders, 61 PwDs and over 200 well-wishers attended the programme.
