Phek, February 14 (MExN): The Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM) organized a Common Platform for 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency on February 14 at Local Ground, Chizami Town with more than thousand public in attendance.
A press release from Dr. Küzhopoyo Tünyi, Convener, CCEM informed that all the candidates of 17th Chizami A/C – Kevechutso Doulo (BJP), Kewepelo Tsuhah (INC), Rekha Rose Dukru (Independent), Kezhienyi Khalo (NPF) and Deo Nukhu (NPP) – gave brief highlights of their party manifesto, visions and plans for the people of the constituency in particular and Nagas in general.
Chaired by Zhonelü Tünyi, vice president Chakhesang Mothers’ Association, the event started with a prayer by Kewekhalo Thopi, pastor, Chizami Village Baptist Church.
Dr. Küzhopoyo Tünyi, Convener CCEM expounded the purpose of Chakhesang Clean Election Movement. He cautioned the voters from selling their votes “as it is a matter of selling one’s right which is against the way of the Lord,” the release said. He further requested the candidates to observe election Code of Conduct and “keep oneself worthy of being a leader as God sees all things from above.”
Meanwhile, Kekhwengulo Lea, president Chakhesang Public Organization shared the concerns of Chakhesang tribe and reminded all the village council chairmen, women and youth front and Chakhesang Students’ Union to uphold the interest of the Chakhesang people. He also urged the candidates to fulfill what they have said on the common platform once they win and reminded them to be instrumental in forming clean and stable government after the election.
The programme concluded with a prayer by Diwetso Lohe, Pastor, Sümi Baptist Church.
