Mokokchung, September 8 (MExN): The Concerned Citizen’s Forum Mokokchung (CCFM) and the Senior Citizens Forum, Mokokchung (SCFM) have appealed to the Government of India to exercise its democratic maturity and recognize the Naga national flag and constitution (Yezabo), without which, “there can be no acceptable and honourable solution to the Indo-Naga political solution.”
In a joint press release on Tuesday, the two organisations upheld the Ao Senden’s ‘official position and mandate’ given to the NSCN (IM) in 2005 as well as the declaration of the 4th Naga Peoples Consultation on the Indo-Naga Political talk, held at Hebron in 2005. It also affirmed its support to the ongoing talks between the NSCN (IM) and the centre for a final settlement on the foundation of the Framework Agreement. The two organizations meanwhile called upon the Government of India to take into cognizance, all the efforts and concords made between the Naga leaders and the five former Prime ministers of India, who had given recognition to Naga political issue as a “political problem’ and the ‘Uniqueness of the Naga History.” With all these facts now established, the Indo Naga political issue should be concluded honourably on the basis of historical proprieties, it added.
