CCoFA yet to receive a copy of the charge sheet

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The Coordination Committee on Fuel Adulteration (CCoFA) stated on November 5 that it is yet to see a copy of the charge sheet filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the fuel adulteration case. As per the SIT, the charge sheet was filed on October 25, 2016 at the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dimapur. “Even after a lapse of 10 days, the CCoFA is still in the dark as to the contents of the charge sheet despite the assurance of the Chief Minister,” said the CCoFA media cell in a press release. On the second day of the CCoFA agitation against government registered (NL 10) vehicles and oil tankers on October 18, the Chief Minister was quoted as assuring the CCoFA of liberty to scrutinise the charge sheet tentatively slated for submission by October 25. If the charge sheet was not up to expectation, the CM assured an independent inquiry would be initiated.

It further stated that it is incumbent upon the government to make public the development instead of the CCoFA making an announcement. “The government is already seized of the serious nature of the issue and the usual complacent and dishonourable attitude of the government is most condemnable. It gives credence to the general perception that the government is not at all serious about solving the vexed fuel adulteration issue,” the release added.
