Zunheboto, December 18 (MExN): The Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) inaugurated an advanced CCTV surveillance system, marking a significant step towards enhancing public safety and urban management in the town.
The event held on December 18 was presided over by Zhuli, Councellor of the ZTC, who stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in maintaining the town’s security and cleanliness.
In his keynote address, Sukhalu highlighted the transformative impact of the initiative, drawing attention to the notable improvements in the town’s infrastructure and governance. He emphasized the pivotal role of the church in fostering community spirit and development, urging continued cooperation between the Town Council, the Gaon Buras (GBs), and local residents to ensure the project’s success. He also acknowledge Shri KT Sukhalu IAS (Rtd) Advisor Food and civil Supplies and legal metrology GON for taking up the development work in building the flyover Foot Bridge at the main town which will help the public in lots of ways.
The surveillance network comprises 15 CCTV cameras strategically installed at key locations, including the daily market and New Colony area. Inaugurated by Kupo Kapfo, Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, these cameras are designed to enhance security, facilitate better monitoring of public spaces, and deter criminal activities, contributing to a safer and more organized town.
Sukhalu further called upon the citizens and GB's to take collective ownership of the system, urging them to treat the CCTV infrastructure as a community asset. “This initiative is not just about technology; it is about fostering a sense of responsibility and partnership among all stakeholders,” he stated.
The event also witnessed the active participation of Gaon Buras (GBs), who commended the Zunheboto Town Council for their exemplary work in prioritizing public safety through the installation of CCTV systems. The GBs expressed their full support for the council’s initiatives, recognizing the significant impact of these measures in fostering a safer and more secure environment for the residents of Zunheboto.
