
Kohima, September 13 (MExN): Chiephobozou Central Youth Organization (CCYO) organized Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kohima on September 12 at Nerhe Model Village Council Hall. The programme gave impetus to vibrant function of youth club leaders which is a continuous process. It would also provide an opportunity to further motivate and strengthen the youth clubs and Mahila Mandals who are in different stages of their development and evolution. The programme also proposes to create an institutional platform right up to the village level, where the youth can articulate their views on various issues and draw the attention of the local administration to such issues and concerns affecting their lives. It also shared their ideas concerning the society and youth in particular by means of neighbourhood youth Parliament.
The resource persons for the programme were animated by Lucy Sechii and John Makhabo. John highlighted the various programmes launched for the benefits of the youth by Government of India where the youth can avail facilities to start their own entrepreneurship like MUDRA Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, Skill India, Beti Bachao, Shramdaan- motivating youth to devote 100 hrs on voluntary labor a year in their areas. Lucy spoke on what is leadership, various leadership styles, qualities of leader and function of a leader.
Razousilie Riilho, President, CCYO in a press release stated that the third session went on with debate and discussion on various issues confronting the youth of the block. All groups put forward concerns about the pathetic conditions of electricity supply, water supply, need for sanitation and health programmes and youth related development programme like career guidance and career counseling.
