The City Development Plan (CDP) for Kohima town with Rs. 7 crore development perspective under JNNRUM has been approved by the Union government, while 66 administrative headquarters have been identified for development of basic infrastructure under the scheme for development of small and medium towns by involving local development committees.

Urban development in Nagaland is tuned to the requirement of modern-day planning, said Nagaland Governor K. Sankaranarayanan in his address at the state assembly session Tuesday.

The ADB project “reforms agenda” has also been approved and the release of the first installment by ADB for rural infrastructure development at Kohima is also expected during 2007-08, the Governor added.

The Land Revenue department has proposed to introduce land patta books to all the towns and administrative headquarters where records of rights have been created and computerization of land records has already been completed, Sankaranarayanan said.
