Tobu, November 22 (MExN): The Wangshu Village Council held a programme on November 19, celebrating 25 years of leadership under its Chairperson SA Ngamlao Konyak.
N Bongkhao Konyak, Advisor DUDA attended the celebration as honoured guest while , KS Anden Konyak, Secretary DUDA and former Minister K Naiba Konyak were special invitees, according to a press release from VDB Secretary of Wangshu village, A Henso.
During the programme, Advisor Bongkhao shared his appreciation to the citizens of Wangshu village for giving Ngamlao the privilege to serve the village as Chairperson for last 25 years. He laid emphasis on the need to choose leaders without ‘clan politics’ in order to achieve development and also encouraged the citizens, especially the youth, to continue fostering good work ethics and not get carried away with ‘easy money or white collar jobs.’
He also assured to do his best for development of the area and called upon the public to cooperate with each other amidst the political difference which, he said, are detrimental to development activities, it said.
The programme was chaired by HP Kossam and A Esang, welcome speech was delivered by Bechung, Head GB, and thanksgiving speech was delivered by SA Ngamlao Konyak. Special numbers were presented by the KYB Band, Moba Inggang, and P Phaiba Konyak. And the programme ended with a note of appreciation from Langkoang, VC Secretary, the release stated.
