Celebration of Tsütuonuomia Inter Peli Sekrenyi Rüzhü

In commemoration of 25 years existence of Tsütuonuomia Inter Peli Sekrenyi Rüzhü (indigenous games), several members from 12 Peli (peer groups) today joined the celebration with much zest and pomp at Kohima Village. Gracing the festival as the chief guest, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro thanked the people of Kohima village for their constant support towards the people of Jotsoma on many fronts and hoped that such trend will go in the long run.  

Nakhro lauded the efforts of T Khel in preserving rich tradition and culture of the forefathers by holding various competitions to mark Sekrenyi festival.

Expressing apprehension that such traditional practices and games have been slowly diminishing with the advancement of modern technology, he hoped that such events would help passing on the good moral values of the forefathers to the younger generation. He also urged upon the younger generation to have the zeal of learning the traditional practice and indigenous games to uphold one’s identity.  

He was appreciative of the Tsütuonuomia Peli Union for bringing 12 Peli together from T. Khel under one platform in building the competitive spirit and translating the much needed principle the better understanding and oneness. He said such activities will go a long way in transmitting the rich cultural and traditional practice to the younger generation.  

Tsütuonuomia Youth Organization president Kevisenyü Zatsu urged the people of Tsütuonuomia to take this silver jubilee as a platform to forgive and forget each other of the past misdeeds if any and move towards a progressive and congenial atmosphere. He wanted to see that the parents get utmost comfort through the positive attitude and conduct of the present generation.  

K. Neibou Sekhose, vice chairman T. Khel Council graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Tsütuonuomia Peli Union president Visasielie Suohu in his speech said Peli Union was set up in 1993 to bring the entire Peli together under one platform to keep alive the rich cultural and traditional practices of forefathers. He informed that a commemorative souvenir, marking the 25 years existence of Tsiituonuomia Peli Union will be brought out.  

The winners of Tsütuonuomia Inter Peli Sekrenyi Rüzhü were as follows: Thepfhe Hievihiesuo 1st Peli No 13-Noushe Lozi; Kehou Hievihiesuo Ist: Peli – 13- Nourhe Lozi; Mepfü Keti Hievihiesuo 1st Asituo –Peli 17; Thapru Ist: Ketoukhriezo Peli No. 16 Kevichade Peli; Khuthuo Ze 1st Henyü- Peli 14 Vira Lozi; Thedze Keya Hievihiesuo- Champion – Peli 18 Khrie Peli and Runner Up- Peli 15 Vizachü; Kero Keteshü (Thenuoko)- Champion- Peli- 14 Vira Lozi and Runner Up- Peli 11 Ketou Khrie; Kero Keteshü (Thepfüko)- Champion – Peli 11 Ketoukhrie and Runner Up- Peli 15 Vizachü.
