Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil’s funeral was on Jan. 22 at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica, the same church where the couple wed 21 years ago, and their son Rene-Charles delivered the most heartfelt, sweet speech ever to honor his father. He even promised to help raise his younger brothers!
Celine and Rene’s 14 year old son Rene-Charles gave a beautiful eulogy at the 78-year-old’s funeral on Jan. 22, and what he had to say was incredibly wise beyond his years. “Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father,” he said, addressing the crowd of mourners at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal. “You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker and smoked meat… and a lot of other wonderful food, bonding more and more as time went by,” the teen recounts connecting with his father through interests more than words, but the close relationship is amazing considering how hard-working and famous his manager and musician father was. The saddest thing is that his 5-year-old twin brothers will never have the same opportunity.
