Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): In regard to the ongoing census operations, the office of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur has stated that it has received various complaints from different villages, colonies and wards regarding boundary jurisdiction.
However, it has clarified that the Census 2011 is purely counting of persons and to collect their information as required by the Directorate of Census, GoI and has got nothing to do with boundary demarcation of the villages, colonies and wards, stated a press note issued by the ADC, Dimapur, who is also the District Census Officer.
It also clarified that the demarcation and carving out of blocks have been done for “purely distribution” of household evenly to each enumerator so as to complete the task as per the time schedule.

Meanwhile, the note also stated that the phase 1 of the house listing and housing census and NPR in connection with Census 2011 has already been started with effect from June 1 and will continue till June 15.
