Census 2011 phase II from Feb 9

Kohima, January 6 (DIPR): The Central Government has declared that the Phase II i.e., census of the population (Population Enumeration) shall be taken in the entire country from February 9 to 28 with a revisional round from March 1 to 5 and reference date as 00:00 hours of the first day of March 2011.
During the Phase II (Population Enumeration) February 9 to 28 every person of a household has to be enumerated. In this context, the training for Enumerators & Supervisors will be conducted from January 12 to 22 at Zonal Council Hall, KMC Conference Hall & DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima. The Departments are to release the appointed Enumerators & Supervisors on time as stipulated in their appointment orders. In this regard, if the departments have not received any official intimation on the appointment of Enumerators & Supervisors, they are requested to report to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima for further necessary action.
The Census of India 2011 is being conducted in two phases, namely (i) Houselisting and Housing Census and (ii) Population Enumeration. In Phase I, buildings, census houses and households were identified and systematically listed in the Houslisting and Housing Census Schedules during the period April to September, 2010. Apart from listing the houses, some useful data on the amenities available to the households were also collected for assessing condition of human settlements, housing deficits, etc.
