Central Nagaland Legislators Forum to tackle economic and social issues

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): A new Central Nagaland Legislators Forum (CNLF) was formed on Friday “in the larger interest of the people of Nagaland and to safeguard the interests of the Central Nagaland.”

The Forum was formed during a joint meeting of the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) executive members and the legislators representing the Central Nagaland region at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur, a press release from the CNTC Media Cell informed. 

It also said that the members selected Minister G Kaito Aye to be the Convenor of the CNLF while MLA Imkong Imchen will take on the role of Co-Convenor, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton as Treasurer, Minister Metsubo Jamir as Finance Secretary, and Advisor Mmhonlumo Kikon as PRO.

“The Forum is entrusted to select the remaining officials in their first meeting and communicate to the CNTC office,” the release stated.

According to the release, altogether 15 legislators attended the meeting and “most of the ones who could not attend due to their prior engagements also expressed their solidarity to the formation of the forum by conveying their messages to the council.” 

The Legislators Forum will work for the common issues faced by Nagas on economic and social issues, it added.

President of Ao Senden, Chairman of Lotha Hoho, President of Sumi Hoho and Central Nagaland Students Association along with their members also attended the meeting.
