
Kohima, November 6 (MExN): The Election Commission of India has ordered Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with respect to January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date. Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland V Shashank Shekhar, IAS in a press release has notified the same with the details of the schedule of activities.
Now onwards, the Annual Summary Revision will be conducted with reference to January 1 of the year as qualifying date, with three subsequent qualifying dates of the year i.e. April 1, July 1 and October 1 of the year in which the final publication of electoral roll is done.
For the current revision, the applicants, becoming eligible for registration with January 1, 2023 as qualifying date and subsequent qualifying dates of the year i.e. April 1, 2023, July 1, 2023, October 1, 2023 can submit their claims in Form-6 in advance, beginning from the date of draft publication of electoral roll. The applications received related to qualifying date January 1, 2023 will be processed as per the above schedule and electoral roll will be updated with final publication.
While the forms/claims w.r.t three subsequent qualifying dates of the year, received in advance, during the SSR period and continuous updation thereafter shall be processed by the ERO under continuous updation during the relevant quarter.
The uses of amended/newly added Forms are as follows:
• Form 6 – Application for new voter/elector
• Form 6B – Letter of information of Aadhar number on a voluntary basis for the purpose of electoral roll authentication.
• Form 7 – Application form for objection for proposed inclusion/deletion of name in existing electoral roll.
• Form 8 – Application form for shifting of residence/correction of entries in existing electoral roll/replacement of EPIC/marking of PwD.
Citizens can file any of the above Forms with the concerned Booth Level Officer or with the AERO and ERO. Forms are available for download in ECI and CEO’s website. Applications can also be filed/submitted online through www.nvsp.in and voterportal.eci.gov.in (links are provided in the ECI and CEO’s website) or mobile app – VHA (voter helpline app) which is available for download in Google play store and Apple app store.
