CF extended for another year

The Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) have agreed to extend the  ceasefire for another year. The extension was decided during a meeting between the two parties at Delhi on April 24, 2009, official sources revealed today. Official sources today quoting a memorandum issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India on June 29 last, stated that “it was agreed to extend the ceasefire for a period of one year during the meeting held with the NSCN (K) on 24.4.2009”. Mention may be made here that the Government of India had entered into a ceasefire with the NSCN (K)  in April 2001, after which the ceasefire has been in extension for  eight times.
