CF extension to depend on talks’ outcome: NSCN (IM)

Crucial meet with Church, elders today

Kohima, July 25 (MExN): Both the NBCC and CNBC today confirmed their participation for the Consultative Committee for Peace meeting convened by the state government tomorrow at 3:00 pm at the Chief Minister’s Official Residence. NBCC Peace Mission Director, Rev. Kari Longchar said that about 6-7 representatives from NBCC will take part in the said meeting. It’s General Secretary Rev. Zhabu Terhuja, Rev. Tongring Konyak and Rev. Dr. Wati Aier will address the meeting on behalf of the NBCC. Rev. Kari said that General Secretary Rev. Terhuja will brief them an hour before they go into the meeting. They will meet at 1:00 pm. 

Meanwhile, it was learnt that the NBCC will be coming out with a draft paper on the Church’s approach on how to deal with the problem. The CNBC has also confirmed its participation in tomorrow’s meeting but said they did not have any specific agenda to be put up in the meeting. Though NBCC declined to disclose the agenda, they are likely to put forth the agenda to press upon the state government to urge the GOI to expedite the peace process.
