CFMG Chairman and NSCN (Khaplang) meet

Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): Chairman of Cease Fire Monitoring Groups (CFMG) Eppen Jacob Kochekkan and the NSCN (Khaplang) today met at the NAP Training Center in Chumukedima to discuss matter concerning ceasefire ground rules. The Government of India and the NSCN (Khaplang) are in ceasefire since 1997.
Chief of the ceasefire mechanism Major General (retired) Eppen Jacob Kochekkan told Media persons that the meeting was a routine, practically expected for the two sides to meet. The meeting as the 47th since the two sides entered into a ceasefire. “The purpose of the meeting over implementation of the ceasefire ground rules,” Major General (retired) Kochekkan said.
Leaders from both the sides were adamant at not divulging the proceedings of the meeting. Both the chairman and the chairman of the Supervisor of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board of the NSCN (Khaplang) Wangtin Naga simply said “there are no problems.”  
Naga said the meeting was ‘cordial’ and discussed the implementation of the said ground rules. Each of the sides brought up their agenda and ‘listened to each other,’ they said. Queried on the ‘agenda,’ both the leaders refused saying whatever was discussed in the meeting was “confidential.” Nonetheless Kochekkan said “We are happy that said all matters were amicably resolved.” When queried what “matters were amicably resolved,” he refused to offer details.   
In attendance in the meeting was also Joint Secretary in the Centre’s North East Region division of the Ministry of Home Affairs Shambhu Singh, Col. Gautam Chauhan, Nagaland’s Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner Banuo Z Jamir, IGAR’s Brigadier R Ravi (IGAR) and Colonel Kajwant Singh. The ceasefire monitoring officials were DIG (retired) G Rengma and DSP (retired) Hokum Yim. The NSCN (Khaplang) delegation was led by Wangtin Naga, members Hokato Vusshe, secretary Nika Yeptho and Isak Sumi, military representative.
