Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): Chairmen and GBs representing both urban and rural Dimapur held a meeting at Naga Council Unity Hall on May 2 to discuss the issue of rape attempt on a Naga woman by one “illegal Bangladeshi immigrant” on April 25. A press release received here informed that after thorough deliberation, the chairmen and GBs in a resolution passed condemned the attempted rape which occurred around 1:30 am. The house further resolved that henceforth, “heinous crimes against Naga women by illegal Bangladeshi immigrants shall not be tolerated and the members of this community shall be flushed out from both the urban and rural areas of Dimapur.”
According to the note, one hundred chairmen and GBs representing Dimapur urban area including the 80 plus colonies under DUCCCF, GBs Union and villages representing rural areas, namely Naharbari, Ekranipathar, Tenyiphe-I, Kashiram, 7th Mile village, Padumpukhuri, Sovima, Darogajan, Chumukedima Ward-6, Sodzulhou, UAVU area, etc., passed the above resolution in the interest of Naga people.
