Chakhesang and Sumi to strengthen fraternal bonds

Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organization and the Sumi Hoho today said to strengthen the fraternal bonds of the two communities with each other. The two tribal civil organizations met in Zunheboto on October 27 and took a number of affirmations. A  brief joint statement was received here today from the Chakhesang Public Organization and the Sumi Hoho leaders today.

The two organizations reiterated their support to the ongoing Naga reconciliation process and committed to strengthening  the ‘Covenant of Naga reconciliation’ signed by the Naga political groups. The two community’s organizations resolved to work for peace and reconciliation till Naga unity is achieved ‘to realize a permanent solution to the “age-old Naga political problem”’. The two organizations also urged the Nagas to uphold the principle of ‘inclusiveness’ in the India-Naga  political  talks.  

Also, the two organizations reaffirmed pursuing and carrying forward “the past resolution adopted in our earlier meets through practical steps to realize our common aspirations. A Chakhesang-Sumi committee is to oversee the aspect of implantation. “The Chakhesang and the Sumi duly acknowledged the supreme authority of God, the Creator, in whose design the two communities are created to be brothers. In obedience to the will of God, our  fraternal brotherhood is established for peaceful coexistence,” the two stated.  “The sole objective of fraternity is to strengthen the very fabric of the unity of Nagas, to strengthen the unity and fraternity of the Sumi and Chakhesangs in particular and the Nagas in general.”
