Chakhesang Cultural Research Institute new team installed

The new team of the Chakhesang Cultural Research Institute (CCRI) for the tenure 2026-28 has been installed today at a function held at Red Cross building, Kohima. The installation ceremony was conducted by Chakhesang Cultural Organisation (CCO).

The new team was announced by CCRI Search Committee convener Dr Chotisüh Sazo while Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, senior pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima officiated the installation ceremony.

The new team includes; Managing Director- Meshusayi Tetseo,  Assistant Managing Director- Veswüzo Phesao, Secretary- Kuvehü Soho,  Joint Secretary- Dr Thebi Joseph Shupao,  Finance Secretary- Sabou Krome,  Treasurer- Hüzüyi Chotso,  Property Secretary-Tsühveto Resiih. The advisors includes- Shoyiyo R Vadeo, Yeveyi Sapu, Vevoyi D Vadeo, Vahine Thisa, Neisa Wetsah, Chekhuzo Lohe, Zhoponeyi Zuo and CCO president  as ex-officio member.

Speaking on the occasion, Zhovehü Lohe, ex- Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) urged upon the CCRI office bearers to always insist authentic report in their research works.

Everything you do should be based on the principle of truth, he said and urged the CCRI not to entertain any forge claim in the historical documentation.

CCO President Kedoutsohi Wetsah said that the CCO has constituted CCRI Search Committee headed by Dr Chotisüh Sazo as Convener and Neilo Khape and Vechisa Venuh as members. He said that CCRI was established in 2000 with its headquarter at Chetheba under the banner of Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO).

The CCRI will be functioned under the umbrella of CCO. He said Zachinü Keyho, was the first chairman from 2000-2012, who alongwith his team, played an important role in bringing out many cultural songs, cassette, videos to promote the young talented musicians. He said that CCRI in partnership with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) can also conduct skill training and provide certificates to the trainees.

The programme was chaired by CCO general secretary Vethikhoyi Khamo while Rev. Dr. Thüjoneyi Veswuh, Associate Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Minister’s Hill Kohima pronounced benediction.
