Chakhesang gazetted officers converge for ‘oneness and integrity’

The Chakhesang Gazetted Officers’ Association (CGOA) today celebrated the colours of oneness and integrity through its general conference 2024 in the presence of Nagaland Power & Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye as the special guest at Capital Convention Hall Kohima.

Presently, CGOA consists 816 gazetted officers with  222 members forming the highest in education sector, followed by 92 in technical, 80- administration, 75 in health care, 71 security forces, agri & allied- 43, ministerial-40,  accounts & legal- 13 each and others- 168.  

Gracing the occasion as the special guests, Kenye called upon the officers to broaden their horizon and contribute towards the greater cause of the community.

Stating that Nagas at the crossroad for long because of the unresolved Naga Political issue, he stressed on the need put a collective effort and decide what would be the best for common cause.

Talking on the approach of Political Affairs Committee of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on Naga political issue, he said that a time has come for intellectuals and NGOs to put across their best minds.

He said the agenda and blueprint of Naga National Political Groups be made known to the public so that the general public will opt for approval and acceptance.

“If people cannot access to these documents then we cannot agree to it,” he said
The people have to thoroughly study and critically analyse it, he said.

Stressing on the need to be more effective and make a breakthrough, he said “The future generations will not forgive us if we don't do our parts today.” If we cannot take concrete decision, it is going to be too late, he said and urged the everyone to play a positive role.

CGOA President Vekhosa Kotso acknowledged the incredible achievement of Er. Vevotolü Kezo, who cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2022 and got selected for the Indian Administrative Service and who became a trailblazer and brought immense pride to Chakhesang community.

He said the responsibility of the CGOA is not only for in-service officers but much beyond and must aim for emancipation from the old mindset to modern competitive world in every aspect, retaining our qualities, ethics, values and rich socio-cultural
The CGOA can contribute a lot for our community in particular and modern Naga society in general if we put our heads together, discuss issues bringing together a diverse pool of opinions and experiences drawn from various professional backgrounds. Vezuhu Keyho, President Chakhesang Public organization, Martha Ritse, Commissioner & Secretary for Social welfare department and Visielie Kezo, Advisor, finance department also spoke at the programme.

CGOA vice president Kekhriezavi Lea chaired the programme while vote of thanks was proposed by Shekhozo Rhakho, Joint Secretary CGOA.

Later, the house has approved present team of CGOA to continue till 2025.
