Pfütsero, May 27 (MExN): The installation programme for office bearers of the Chakhesang Scholars' Forum (CSF) for the tenure 2024 to 2027 cum sharing of research experiences was held at Pfutsero Government College) on May 25.
The CSF new office bearers will be led by Dr Zavise Rume as chairman; Dr Hüsazülü C Khamo - Vice Chairman; Neipre-ü Mero - General Secretary; Dr Tsutshowe-ü Sekhamo - Secretary (Academic Journal Publication); Dr Gideon Phesao - Secretary (Statistics); Rukuzo Ruho - Secretary (Finance); Reyivolü Rhakho as Secretary (Press & Media); and Dr Meyietsolo Ritse – Treasurer.
CSF Chairman Dr Zavise Rume in a keynote address said the forum was formed on April 29, 2021 and the first office bearers were installed on the same day at Pfutsero Government College. “This forum have one clear agenda and that is to promote healthy interactions among ourselves as well as to promote teaching, research, publication, and extension programmes like seminars and workshops,” Dr Rume said.
The forum aims to promote scientific and empirical facts in the academic and research fields, he added and called upon the members to play a proactive role and join hands to promote the objectives of the forum.
CSF Advisor Hüsazü Epao in his exhortation urged the members to “think seriously” and said, “The forum should become a depository of information so that it becomes useful for the community.” Maintaining that there are “so many issues in the society,” he urged the members “to ponder on issues in the society and see if you can research them.” He also added that research is an expected effort from the forum.
Pointing out the lack of documentations in the community, Chakhesang Public Organisation, President, Vezuhu Keyho said, “The forum is the need of the hour. The CSF should not just be an association but it should be a research centre and a think tank forum.”
CSF Secretary (Academic) Nüveta Khüsoh gave the welcome note. CSF General Secretary Wepekhro Wetsah gave the secretary and treasurer reports. Rev Dr Kuzhopoyo Tunyi, Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Mission Centre Church prayed for the newly office bearers.
Following the installation programme, research experiences were shared by Rukuzo Ruho, Associate Professor at Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero and Dr Zavise Rume, Professor at SCERT Nagaland. The session was moderated by Chothazo Nienu, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Pfutsero Government College.
