Kohima, October 4 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) observed Black Day at R.D Block Kikruma on October 3 last.
This black day is observed in respect of Late Vechikho Puro, the then Games & Sports Secy of CSU (2006-2007) who was shot dead on 3rd October 2007 at AG colony Kohima.
A short programme was held at his memorial and lying of wreaths was done by CSU and Kikruma Students' Union. Short speech was delivered by CSU president Dode Nakro. He expressed solidarity to the family members and also salutes its former official for the good service rendered to the Union and the community in general and also encouraged the gathering to give their best services for the society. A minute silent prayer was observed.
VCC Kikruma and the mother of Late Vechikho Puro also extended their gratitude to the Union for remembering its member and paying respect to the long departed soul. The program was chaired by Lavoto Chizo, Vice President CSU and invocation was pronounced by Pastor Kikru Town Baptist.
President & colleagues of Kikruma Students Union, Village Council Kikruma, Kikru Town Chairman, Head GB Kikruma village, Kikruma village Youth Organization, Kikru Town youth President and Pastor Kikruma also present at the function.
